OMACOLD -PLUS SYRUP

Active Ingredients (Per 5ml):

• Paracetamol (125 mg): A pain reliever and fever reducer.
• Phenylephrine Hydrochloride (5 mg): A nasal decongestant that relieves stuffy nose.
• Chlorpheniramine Maleate (2 mg): An antihistamine that reduces allergy symptoms like runny nose and sneezing.

Description & Mechanism of Action:

1. Paracetamol:

   • Reduces fever and mild body pain caused by colds and flu.

2. Phenylephrine:

   • Constricts nasal blood vessels, relieving nasal congestion and making breathing easier.

3. Chlorpheniramine:

   • Blocks histamine receptors, reducing allergy symptoms like runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes.

Uses:

• Common cold and flu symptoms
• Fever associated with cold and cough
• Stuffy nose, sneezing, and runny nose
• Mild headache and body pain due to viral infections

Dosage & Administration:

• Children (2-6 years): 2.5 ml, 3 times a day (as prescribed).
• Children (6-12 years): 5 ml, 3 times a day (as prescribed).
• Adults & children above 12 years: 10 ml, 3 times a day (as prescribed).
• Shake well before use and do not exceed the recommended dose.

Side Effects:

• Drowsiness, dizziness
• Nausea, upset stomach
• Dry mouth
• Increased heart rate (rare)

Precautions & Warnings:

• Avoid alcohol (may increase drowsiness).
• Not recommended for children under 2 years without a doctor’s advice.
• Use with caution in high blood pressure & heart disease (Phenylephrine can raise blood pressure).
• Avoid driving or operating machinery (may cause drowsiness).
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy & breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions:

• Other cold or flu medicines (may cause overdose on similar ingredients).
• Sedatives & antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine, benzodiazepines): Can increase drowsiness.
• Blood pressure medications: May interact with Phenylephrine.
